X-ALP x @gathering "V1"

This pair features a collaboration with @gathering, a textile-focused brand, to rework the Salomon X-ALP @gr10k. The project began with a dyeing process in brown and beige tones, giving the rubber panels a rich dark brown hue, while the heel area took on a unique grayish-purple shade. The original waxed material of the upper was replaced with Kantha embroidered handwoven wool and handwoven natural cotton, bringing texture and artistry to the design. The lateral and medial sides feature different fabrics, intentionally creating a mismatched aesthetic. The pattern in the toebox area is divided by an invisible butterfly stitch, adding a subtle detail. To enhance the craftsmanship, the fabric seams were mud-dyed, incorporating both a standard stitch and intricate star/spiral patterns. Beige cotton cord laces with subtle brown accents complete the look, perfectly complementing the natural tones and textures of the shoe.
